Total Addressable Market (TAM)

Definition: Total Addressable Market (TAM) refers to all the people or businesses in a given market who might want and consider using your product. For example, if you make a car-sharing app that only works in the US, you might consider your TAM the number of Americans who don't own cars but own smartphones and, based on research, would be willing to try or are interested in ride-sharing.
