Definition: Prioritization is the process in which a set of items are ranked by their order of importance. In product management, initiatives in the backlog must be prioritized as a means of deciding what development should proceed next. There are a number of prioritization methods commonly used by product managers, such as the Kano Model, Weighted Scoring, and Opportunity Scoring.
